I love Budapest, been there many times, the Széchenyi thermal baths are worth a visit at any time of the year.

Just ignored the "Don't drink Unicum" advice. It transpires that I should have heeded that advice. Absolutely awful stuff. Still, a shot of that, a pint and a glass of white wine cost £2.50.
City seems absolutely lovely so far.

Just my opinion eerie son. Cant understand why peoplr say things like no traffic. There are cars everywhere, and massive poverty. Have a look at the forest camps when you get the cab from the airport.

Don't ever let a Cav driver take you a strop club that he has chosen under any circumstances, you will be turned over.
P1 is good, head there x

Fantastic city, dirt cheap, the tourist things are easy enough to look up so just do what you fancy, avoid the Parliament building though, boring as fuck. All the good bars are on the Pest side, and most of the decent gaffs to eat are too.
I you like red wine, Hungarian is absolutely lovely and costs shirt buttons, and just a little tip, anyone you speak to, try and throw in a bit of local lingo, they absolutely love it and really appreciate it. Thank you is 'cursi' and even just that will get you better service in a restaurant.
Penners, a shithole? I hope you're not comparing it to Reading?

The locals will try to con you on every single corner, but apart from that, it's a pretty good crack.

goes without saying but the boat trip is the best way to see the city and it's very good value.
Ruin pubs (see link)
Take the train out to the big park at the top of Andrassay and visit the spa there. The others are full of woofters.
